Set within the medieval walled town of Ourem and only 12 kms from Fatima, one of most famous pilgrimage centres in the world, is the charming Hotel Conde De Ourem.
This Hotel in Ourem was originally a number of medieval houses and a 15th century hospital which have been combined and converted into this spacious, modern Pousada. The hotel boasts an elegant outdoor swimming pool and has breathtaking views of the Seica River valley and the Shrine of Fatima.
The Pousada Ourem has 30 rooms, including 15 superior rooms, all with en-suite bathroom, heating/air conditioning, minibar, hairdryer, telephone, LCD TV and internet access.
The magnificent walled town of Ourem and its castle take visitors back to medieval times and are ideal for exploring on foot. The castle was destroyed by Napoleon’s troops but much of it has recently been restored.
Nearby Fatima became famous in 1917, when The Virgin Mary appeared to three peasant children over a period of five months on the 13th day of each month. Thousands of visitors, from all over the world, come to the sacred shrine on the 13th day of each month and hundreds still make the pilgrimage on foot.

Une semaine délicieuse : baignée de soleil, dans un site de rêve et au calme – un vrai belvédère !
L’ accueil est chaleureux, le personnel est disponible, discret et efficace.
La chambre au 3ème étage est spacieuse, moderne, bien entretenue.
Le restaurant et sa terrasse sont accueillants, les repas généreux et excellents.
La carte des vins propose de savoureux produits nationaux.
Pas le moindre regret : que du bonheur !
no lift to the room (some problems for the luggage) but our our stay was pleasant. Great helpful staff. We expected the typical Portuguese food, hardly ever found in the pousads. Perhaps the quality / price of food was not to be still living good. Pousada strongly recommend, especially with the favorable price of the Golden Age Passport
Enjoyed our two night stay in this, the first of our pousada experiences. Restaurant very good although a little on the expensive side. Only one other dining option in an Uchaida a short walk away which we enjoyed also. Hilltop location fantastic although at the end of our first day’s drive in Portugal the approach oveer the last few kilometres was a bit of a challenge, particularly the last few hundred metres, but well worth the effort. Staff helpful as we found in other pousadas.
We enjoyed our one night stay at Pousada Conde de Ourem. The restaurant food and service were very good. Our room was comfortable and well maintained. The hillside setting provides some very nice views of the surrounding areas.
Geweldig!! Pracht locatie,super hotel,heerlijk eten en zeer gemotiveerd en vriendelijk personeel. Het binnen komen in de stad met onze eigen auto was even een stuurmansklus!!Maar dan ben je er ook. Geweldig was het bezoek aan mijnheer RaulEsperito Santo Julio,die werkelijk een unieke collectie Oldtimers bezit. Wij waren er en werde zeer vriendelijk door hem in zijn mooie oldtimer-ruimte ontvangen. Ook i zijn restaurant bij de kerk werdn wij zeer vriendleijk ontvangen. Vele mooie dingen gekregen en ik zal een verslag maken voor mijn Oltimerclub in Nederland EEN FANTASTISCH MAAR VEEL TE KORT VERBLIJF IN EEN GEWELDIGE PLAATS
